Capital of Culture Sign
To launch Liverpool Culture Company's Creative Education Programme and as part of Liverpool's Capital of Culture celebrations, more than 300 pupils from all of Liverpool's secondary schools converged on the steps of the Catholic Cathedral on Friday 11th January 2008. Pupils held up a sign spelling out "European Capital of Culture 2008".
The artwork for the sign, created by Dave Bixter, incorporated photographs of some of Liverpool's buildings - celebrating the wealth of architecture within the city.
