My work uses photography in order to investigate
and document urban space. I am specifically interested in marginal areas of
cityscape where contrasts and transitions occur and where mess and incongruity
exist. These areas include wastelands and derelict sites where function is
hidden or obsolete and poignant traces of past activity are evident. The work
records the way in which our cities evolve and decay, devoting attention to
areas which might normally be considered banal or inconsequential as well as
recording details beneath or in between the ‘perfect’ surfaces within the
built environment. |
